All right. This is quite an impromptu testimonial. My gums and my lips are still a little numb.
The way I came about this place, I went to the Philippines to a biological medical clinic to get some low back injections for my low back pain.
The biological medical doctor there had some sort of a scan done and told me that she could not give me the injections until I had at least this one tooth with root canal pulled.
Come back to the States. I found Dr. Hart two hours away. I have back pain. I’m going to pretty much try anything. I’ve been suffering with back pain for over 20 years. The tooth has been removed. Maybe it’s four weeks now. Feeling much better. And I remembered that I couldn’t sleep on my stomach or my back. I’m so used to sleeping on my side for so many years. I can sleep on my stomach. I can sleep on my back, and my lower back is pain-free.
Everything’s not a 100%, but it’s way better. Noticeable improvement. I could stand longer and I’m feeling great. Thank you Dr. Hart and staff.

I discovered I had a few cavities that need to be filled and more importantly even, I had some bridge work that had deteriorated from the past 30 years. So when I found out about a biological dentist and some of the health benefits from that and I read on Dr. Hart’s website that she also is able to help with my snoring, I decided I definitely wanted to go and have a consultation. It was great going to a dentist that has an overall focus on the health of the body, which included ceramic implants versus metal. The process I went through to have this work done was in one word, relaxing. The people are just a pleasure to be around. Everyone in the office is a pleasure to be around. And when you lay back in the chair, they put these headphones on you, you watch television during the process. For me, this is about the best possible experience that a person could have going to a dentist. And I’m very happy with the results. They did a great job on my teeth. And as far as the snoring, I have an appliance that was made specifically for my mouth and I have seen much improvement in my sleep. I wake up more rested than I ever have before.

So I came to Dr. Hart and I’ve been using my myrobaris for one and a half years and it’s been great. Before I wore my myrobaris, my teeth were crooked and my smile was really bad. Now, my smile is really good. You can see it.

In the past, I’ve had some difficulties with some of my dental care and I was looking for a professional who was gonna be able to give me what I felt would be best for me. Dr. Hart came up number one in this area as a choice to pursue. Dr. Hart has a holistic viewpoint on dental care. The procedure that I had performed was a ceramic implant followed by a crown. From that point, I received care for the next several months, returned visits, she was checking to see how it was healing. We got to the end of the procedure, which was the ceramic crown, which was made the day of the implant, which was a new procedure for me. The results that I obtained at the end have been magnificent. I’m very pleased with the results. The work was completed on time to a very high standard.
How we meet our patient is actually quite a process. We invite them for a comprehensive exam. So the first part of the exam is the taking all the data, multiple pictures, x-rays, pH of saliva, blood pressure. And I studied, I studied the CBC T3 dimensional x-ray. I studied the picture. I think what would be the best plan and sometimes it’s several plans. And it’s not just the plan, but it’s also how I can help to not just achieve the health, but keep that health for a long time. If you have stress-free experience, your body heals better. So we use all possible means like sedation dentistry, like relaxing music, TV, headphones, warm pillows. They get the treatment, but they don’t feel the stress of it.
When I came to United States, I decided to follow the footsteps of my grandparents and become a dentist. But I didn’t want just drill and fill. I wanted to practice biological dentistry. Biological dentistry meant for me that lifestyle I had and I have, and I wanted to share that with my patients. We have that scheme on biological dentistry. The first step is to get rid of all the infection. Infection is bad. The second principle is to get rid of all the toxic materials. In biological dentistry, we use just ceramic, PPA-free, all biocompatible materials. We’re always looking for a root cause. For example, somebody broke the tooth, we investigate what’s going on, what’s going on with the habits, what’s going on with the sleep, what’s going on possibly clenching, grinding. We always find that connection. Then I can say, “Okay, I see that red flag and maybe you need to see a medical doctor and investigate something else.” But that’s how it goes. It’s not just fixing the issue. I call biological dentistry a slow dentistry. It’s all about patient experience, not just after the procedure, but during the procedure. Because if you have stress-free experience, your body heals better. We use all possible means like sedation dentistry, like relaxing music, TV, headphones, warm pillows. They get the treatment that they don’t feel the stress of it. That’s another principle of biological dentistry.
I actually feel very lucky to practice the way I do. Not many people in the United States or any other countries, for instance, can practice with so much new technology. We have laser dentistry which has multiple applications. CBCT, which is three-dimensional x-ray. So we can diagnose very precisely because of all those tools. We can execute the treatment plan within one day. We can have a patient who says, “I haven’t been to audiences for a long time and I want to achieve this goal.” And we can just do it for one day. And of course, the cleaning technology of the air flow which removes the biofilm. Technology is just a great tool and we are just so lucky to provide that for our patients.
Dr Hart: One of the services which sets us apart from other practices is the service of ceramic implant. So patients are coming with the infected tooth and they want to get rid of the infection of course. We take the tooth out with the biological protocol. The same day we can place that ceramic implant. And that ceramic implant is very biocompatible. The tissue loves it. It heals very well and it looks great. And it’s a great, great benefit for the patient health.
Rudy Vaughan: I discovered I had a few cavities that need to be filled and more importantly even, I had some bridge work that had deteriorated from the past 30 years. Much better for my body’s health.
Ron Cummings: In the past I’ve had some difficulties with some of my dental care and I was looking for a professional who was going to be able to give me what I felt would be best for me. Specifically was looking for ceramic implants. I don’t like to put metals in my body if at all possible. Dr. Hart came up number one in this area. The results that I obtained at the end have been magnificent. The work was completed on time to a very high standard.
Rudy Vaughan: If you’re looking for a healthy and positive experience at the dentist office, then I would highly recommend Virginia Biological Dentistry.
Introduction by Dr. Hart on Life Values and Dental Care for Her Patients’ Overall Health
I was growing up in the 80s in Ukraine and we didn’t have much, but we had great family values. One of those values was work-life balance. We had time for conversation and that’s how I practice my dentistry. I sit down and have the conversation with the patients. I spent lots of time with them. The other part of our value was healthy lifestyle. And healthy lifestyle meant healthy food. We would go to the market and we would pick up the vegetables, grow naturally, walk outside. We would have regular physical activity. That’s what I wanted to do through the life. I wanted to help people to have that balance, to have that health and happiness in the life. In Virginia Biological Dentistry, we recognize oral health being an indicator of overall health. And it’s not just about changing the smile or fixing the tooth. It’s about improving the quality of life, improving the longevity of life. We are also very open-minded. Patients know their body the best. We always listen. We love our patients and we love what we do.
Dr. Hart’s Patient shares her views
about Virginia Biological Dentistry
I just wanted to share something very sweet, and pretty comical that just happened to me. I received this box on my front porch, 1.800 Flowers, and I actually thought it might be from my husband. We’re recent empty-nesters, and I thought well, maybe it’s from him. How kind, it would be something he would do, and it was not! It actually was from my dentist and it said, “Teresa, thank you so very much for all the patients that you have sent to our office. We are so grateful for your kindness. We are so lucky to have you as a friend and patient”. I just wanted to give a shout-out to my dentist, what a sweet gesture. I didn’t need for her to send me beautiful flowers, but I’m certainly going to enjoy putting them in my home. Dr. Hart is creating an environment in her dental office that is safe, that is very proactive, and she is using some different types of treatments that really, I would say, are a major upgrade to many of the conventional practices out there. She is involved in biological dentistry, so look that up and you’ll find out a little bit more. It’s more of an integrative approach and it has a lot to do with looking at your whole health when it comes to your teeth, and when it comes to your oral health. She is worth the time and your investment. She is located off Ridgefield Parkway. Her practice is called Virginia Biological Dentistry.
Dr. Hart talks about dental services available
at Virginia Biological Dentistry
Hi, my name is Dr. Olivia Hart. I’m a practicing dentist in Glen Allen, Virginia. I’ve been practicing dentistry for decades and I realized at the beginning of my career that there are different ways to practice dentistry and one of them is biological dentistry. So, what sets biological dentistry apart is the realization that there is a huge connection – tooth body connection – which means our oral health is dependent on our overall health and vice versa. So, to follow that philosophy, we use technology which helps us a lot, and those technology we use in our practice includes the same day CEREC machine, which helps us to create very conservative restorations. We use laser which helps us to create very conservative preparations, which has anti-bacterial properties and also helps with pain. We place ceramic implants, which is an alternative to metal implants, because our body might be sensitive to metals. We offer our patients the possibility to do the tests to determine which materials are the best for you because the materials in our mouth are very, very important. We also use, we follow the safety protocol, to replace defective amalgam restorations and that protects our patients from the mercury. So, I hope that you’re gonna visit our practice, and I hope you’re gonna share our passion for biological dentistry and share our passion to improve the health and quality of life.

Excellent Biological Dentistry Services by Dr. Hart
Dale: I was looking for a dentist who could give me a better smile because I had some issues with my upper teeth and my dentist did not provide this service, and my husband and other family members recommended Doctor Hart.
John: I came because I had noticed both cosmetically and physically that I was having some, what I thought were pretty major dental problems, and my sister had been going to Doctor Hart for several years and suggested that I come see her. So, I came for a consultation. I came in here with friendly people and sat down and met Doctor Hart, immediately felt comfortable with her, and I’ve learned of her credentials, which are extensive. She sat down, performed an examination, let me know that it was going to be a rather extensive period of dental work. I said, “Let’s go for it and let’s do it right,” and the difference now is just amazing. She made it very clear from the outset that she believed in the biological approach, which is something frankly, I had never really thought about. But when you think about it, if you take care of your body and if you bring the right things into your body and treat your body the way you’re supposed to, by natural extension, your teeth will be much healthier as well. So, she’s gotten me to take the supplements that she recommended. I’ve been doing that for two years now. I’ve tried to help my diet, I’ve lost some weight. I’ve always exercised, but I’ve lost some weight, so it makes imminent sense to me that as our teeth obviously are natural parts of our body, and the more you do to take care of the whole body, the better off the various parts will be. So, it makes imminent sense to me.
Dale: Doctor Hart, she took the whole biological approach. When she did my first X-ray, she told me I had sleep apnea and I was surprised. I said, “How do you know I’ve got sleep apnea?” She said, “I can tell by your X-ray, right?” Well, I knew I had sleep apnea, and she has made a device for me to prevent sleep apnea. And I’m really excited about that.
John: When I first came to see Doctor Hart, one of the things that had let me know that I had some problems was that I had some discomfort when I was eating. I had some very sensitive teeth. I knew from my smile that there was some extensive work that needed to be done. So, when I came in, I knew that there was going to be a lot of work. Doctor Hart immediately, and not just Dr. Hart, her staff, the folks here at the front desk, Alice, her dental assistant, who is absolutely fantastic and very, very good at what she does. Doctor Hart put me at ease. She’s so soft-spoken and so gentle. Yet you couple that with her expertise and I cannot think of anyone who could do a better job for me, and I cannot tell you how happy I am with the results and how glad I am that I came to see Doctor Hart.
Dale: I’m just thrilled that I met Doctor Hart and I echo what John said. I love Alice. They all have such wonderful personalities. They’re all very sweet, kind, soft-spoken, caring. The other thing is they keep up to date with all the modern things that are going on in dentistry, take lots of classes. I know, while I was here, they actually flew to Utah to take classes and it was at that time that they developed a special device or different or new device to help me with the sleep apnea. And it was because I’m a big-time gagger and they located a device that would benefit me and I was most appreciative, but they’re just wonderful, wonderful people.
John: Subconsciously, when you are aware that your smile is not what it used to be, that you tend to not smile quite as much as you used to or you put your hand over your mouth or you don’t quite open your mouth like you used to, and I realized that I had been doing that for a number of years and let me tell you, it is so nice not to feel self-conscious. And to be able to smile and do so without fear that someone might say, “Wow, look at that guy’s mouth. It’s really a mess.” So, she did a fantastic job.

Dr. Hart’s Unique Approach to Biological Dentistry
I do have a meditation practice and I think through meditation and really understanding how divine we are, that leads right into understanding that everything that we need to heal our bodies is right here in the earth. So, I choose not to have health insurance because I truly believe that the medicines that are generated by our pharmaceuticals are not healthy for my body. So therefore, why spend all that money? So, I seek out biological measures in every way and that is a way of life for me and I’m 58. I’m feeling great. I’m looking great. I’m having fun. So, it’s working. Yes well, I have been seeing a dentist that I was not quite comfortable with, and you know, when your body says something’s off, you should pay attention to it, so I knew something was off. I just couldn’t figure out what it was. Well, I spent over 3,000 dollars having my gums repaired and they led me to believe that if I didn’t do this, I’d lose my teeth, all to understand that it was just a cosmetic thing. That is a lot of money to spend for a cosmetic thing! I would have much rather done something else with it. So, I looked into the Natural Awakening, a trusted magazine, and I found Doctor Hart and I called and Sandy, wonderful receptionist, said, “Oh well, we can’t get you in, we’re so booked, probably not until January or February”. I said, “You know what? I have a very clean mouth. I’ll take care of myself, but this is where I need to be. I like what I see and I’ll just trust the universe to get me in. You might have a cancellation”. Sandy said, “Oh well, great, we might, okay, I’ll take your name and number”. She called me back within a week and said, “We have a place for you”, of course you do, because this is what I need and the universe provides for me. So, I found Doctor Hart and from the time I walked in the door, meeting Sandy and the other nice lady, it was a great experience, but on top of that, meeting Doctor Hart was much more than what I had expected. I really had never met an individual with such kindness and genuine care, and I just felt right at home, you know, with her approach, and her honesty about what I needed in my mouth. Well, I’m already telling everybody about what she’s done for me and my daughter says, “Mom, you’ve got a crush on Doctor Hart”. That’s, well, maybe I do, but I said it’s just such a rare thing to meet someone of… she exudes such kindness. I couldn’t say enough about her, so I’ve told several people and one of my best friends will be reaching out to Doctor Hart this week. She too is a grinder like me and I know that Doctor Hart can help her. So there would be no hesitation at all in recommending Doctor Hart.

Dr. Cheryl Billingsley: I don’t think people realize that the dentist can be at the forefront of discovering some of the problems that you may develop throughout your body.
Presenter: Periodontal disease is directly associated with heart disease and diabetes.
Dr. Cheryl Billingsley: If you improve your dental health, you can improve those diseases also.
Presenter: But when people lose their jobs, health insurance often disappears as well. Regular check-ups can get put on the backburner.
Dr. Cheryl Billingsley: There are other places they can go to, like the Crossover Health clinic, the dental school, where they can offer dentistry at a much lower fee, or in some cases at no fee, if they qualify.
Presenter: Dentists view their work as preventative, looking to correct minor problems before they develop into something bigger.
Dr. Cheryl Billingsley: So, if you can treat them when they’re small issues, it’s much more easier for the patient and for your pocketbook also.
