What is CEREC?
If you have ever gotten a standard dental crown, then you know the process isn’t very efficient. The dentist needs to shape and prepare your tooth before creating a mold. The laboratory needs the mold before creating the crown, which can take a week or two. All of this leaves the patient wearing a temporary restoration while waiting for the next appointment.
CREREC was created to answer the need for convenience, speed, and precision in dental restorations. The system includes two important components: an in-office milling machine and proprietary software, which are used in conjunction to streamline the entire dental crown process in a single visit.

In-office milling vs. a dental laboratory
You may wonder how much the convenience of CEREC costs. Although we can’t give you an exact quote without an examination, the answer is usually about the same as a standard crown. The cost of premier materials and advanced technology are generally offset by eliminating expensive laboratory fees.
